How Blogs Could Be Used in the Classroom by Students
There are many ways in which a blog could be used in the classroom, because its purposes and varieties are wide. As I am thinking about how it could be used within my own classroom, a few ideas come to mind. The first would be to have my own teacher blog, in which I would post thought provoking questions and ideas. The task of the students would be to respond to these posts by replying to my post. By doing this through a blog, instead of in class on paper or as an essay, the students are able to be more creative and do their research with links I provide (while they can find their own articles as well). In addition, they can include photographs, links to videos, songs, or anything else they see fit. This integration of technology and many different platforms will give students the opportunity to view other students' ideas, creating new perspectives driven by experience.
